Voted a recent Sunday Times "Rip Roaring Read", I write books for both boys and girls across the primary school age group, including picture books. Translated into many languages, these include: Not Yet, Zebra, Eat your People, Princess DisgraceShadow Snatcher and Finding Black Beauty. Before becoming a full-time author I was a theatre director and lecturer, often teaching in schools and community venues. As such, I am confident and comfortable in the classroom.

The buzz of excitement Lou left behind was palpable, with many children snatching precious minutes after breaks to carry on with their stories. She did an amazing job and I would highly recommend her to other schools – you won’t be disappointed! Year 5 teacher, Cambridge

Girls and boys will love her visits, she involves the children in her talks and has them all captivated. Its noisy though, so beware the excitement level can be high! I can't recommend her highly enough and the feedback from children and teachers has been very complimentary. Independent Bookseller

I have always been particularly interested in Key Stage 1 and 2 as it offers the chance to engage with the imaginations of developing and newly-fluent readers (a treat for any writer). I have written children's books, short stories plays and verse - always with an emphasis on humour. I have also written for television, including stories for programmes on Cbeebies.

I also have lots of picture books for younger children (Foundation Stage) and am happy to visit reception classes, play groups and nurseries too.

I regularly teach creative writing in schools. I also run a course teaching adults how to write children's books at City Lit in London - as such, I will happily talk to sixth form/college students and any interested adults.

I am based in North London but happy to travel.

Sessions are flexible and fun ... exploring writing, reading, character, description, fable, fairy tale and/or verse through my work. Or, simply, invite me to read and talk about being an author. There is always plenty of time for questions and answers. Happy to follow-up on Skype too.

I look forward to hearing from you. Explore my web site and/or get in touch on the CONTACT EMAIL above for more details or to book a slot.

Many Thanks.
