Sophie Ambrose brought reading, writing and art to life when she came to visit. The children were captivated by her illustrations drawn live in the whole school assembly. Each year group was given a tailor-made workshop which allowed them to understand how she came to create her beloved characters: the lonely giant and Albie. She created a buzz and excitement during the week of World Book Day and sent children home eager to create their own stories and to get lost in their reading books. Thank you Sophie!

What a fantastic day! The assembly was very engaging and the children absolutely loved interacting with the story and the characters that Jason brought to life - brilliant! The children all took part in workshops throughout the day and also really enjoyed creating their own characters for their stories. They we still taking about them well afterwards. We had a wonderful visit from Ray Star on World Book Day. Ray did workshops with each year group where she talked about her journey as an author and the books she has written. She helped the children develop their own stories by thinking about the types of characters and what might happen. Ray was really engaging and brilliant with the children - we all loved her visit!
