Details

Over the last 20 years, I have written some 150 episodes of television comedy for both adults and children including The Brittas Empire and Woof! I have also written 11 children's books, three of which - Aquila, Bernard's Watch, and Matt's Million were televised.

I do between 40 and 50 visits to schools and libraries each year and my talks - aimed at reminding children that reading is fun and that there is nothing better than a good story - go down particularly well with students in Years 5 & 6, but are easily adapted to include Years 3 and 4. My books are designed for 8-12 year olds and offer, I think, great scope for discussion, creative work and developing students' own writing. They  have all been shortlisted for Book Awards around the country and are recommended by the National Literacy Trust and the School Library Service.

To get a feel for my talks, take a look at the feedback from teachers and librarians on my wife's information website at http://anorrissbooks.wordpress.com where you will also find detailed info about my books (including extracts to read), activity sheets, news of events and much more about what I like to do on a visit...

In 2009, I am still charging £70 for a session and £200 for a day, plus travel expenses from Chilbolton, Hants, SO20 6AP
